Official Press Release: Centenarian Celebrated at Rochester Presbyterian Home

Rochester, NY – Rochester Presbyterian Home (RPH), a leading provider of memory care and assisted living for seniors, was thrilled to host a 100th birthday party for resident David Richards on January 23rd at 2:00PM. This remarkable milestone was celebrated at RPH's Homestead community located at 256 Thurston Road, Rochester, NY 14619. A joint proclamation from the City of Rochester and Monroe County was presented to David at the party.

Mr. Richards, a beloved member of the RPH community since 2017, has witnessed a century of change, growth, and resilience. Born on January 23, 1924, David has accumulated a wealth of experiences, stories, and wisdom over the years. A veteran who served in the Navy as an airman, David traveled all over the world living in NH, NC, PA, and FL. He settled down in NY to marry his love, Mary and went on to have three children: Beth, Jeff and Polly. David was a professor of architecture at Syracuse University and a magician in his spare time. His hobbies include painting, reading, writing, drawing, and gardening.

The celebration of David’s 100th birthday featured a special event with his RPH family, friends, and fellow residents, highlighting David's life experiences. RPH showcased a collection of David’s achievements – from the artwork he has painted to novels he has written.

“RPH has been privileged to play a part in David's life journey, providing a warm and supportive environment that promotes well-being, dignity and happiness. Our commitment to personalized care has contributed to David's overall quality of life, and we are honored to celebrate this huge milestone with him,” said Anne Gallese, Chief Executive Officer at RPH.
