Rochester Presbyterian Home offers traditional assisted living as well as memory care for persons living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. In addition, we offer respite services and enhanced care at our three residences. All of our communities are certified by the Eden Alternative and are committed to cultivating the experience of growth, purpose and joy.
Rochester Presbyterian Home has proven that Elder Care can be different! Our three residences are not "institutions,' they are homes where Elders are embraced as family. We deliberately enliven our residences with pets, visiting school children and ample gardens. We engage Elders in directing their own care and defining how life is lived. Our philosophy of care is rooted in the principles of the Eden Alternative which assures that we preserve each individual's personal identity and foster growth, purpose and joy.
Cottage Grove offers memory care, respite services and enhanced memory care. Elders are welcomed into one of four beautiful homes where they share a living room, dining area and open kitchen. Each Elder enjoys the privacy of one of the twelve bedrooms with ensuite bathroom. The four houses open to a secure courtyard with raised gardens, and a walking path. A screened front porch in each house provides a relaxing spot for Elders to gather.
The historic Homestead located in Rochester’s 19th Ward is rooted in a faith-based tradition, celebrates diversity, practices prayer, and welcomes everyone as family. The Homestead uniquely offers care tailored to address the needs of Elders during each stage of progressive dementia from early stage cognitive impairment to advanced dementia. Enhanced care is offered to accommodate persons nearing the end stages of the disease.
The Memory Care Residences at Creekstone offers a comfortable and sustaining household setting for persons living with memory loss. Elders share a living room, dining area and open kitchen. Each Elder enjoys a private bedroom with ensuite bathroom. The four houses open to a secure courtyard with raised gardens, and a walking path. A screened front porch in each house provides a relaxing spot for Elders to gather.
As an Eden Alternative residence we are committed to building a “human habitat” that is full of life and spontaneity. Our purpose is to reach each individual and assist them in leading a meaningful life with as much independence and freedom as possible. We believe it is our obligation to not only accommodate residents’ needs but also to nurture their spirits. We want the “sunset years” for our Elders to be happy, safe and fulfilling.
Someone you love is living with dementia, what now? Persons living with dementia experience changes in cognitive and functional abilities as the disease progresses. This varies from person to person depending on the type of dementia and the stage of the illness. Read our 5 part series that will help guide you through the process.
It is the responsibility of the Rochester Presbyterian Home to protect the health and safety of our Elders and employees through strict compliance with the NYS DOH guidelines for visitation in assisted living residences.

Thank you for absolutely everything! I am so grateful for the loving care Mom received at RPH. Her adjustment happened in the first five minutes we arrived in 2015...I have made friends on the staff that will last a lifetime. Hold a spot for me in the next 20-30 years. I can think of no other place I would rather be.
When Mom arrived, she did not know anyone in the community. Almost immediately the staff at RPH treated Mom as if she was part of their family. The caring, loving atmosphere that you have created for all your residents made Mom feel comfortable, and helped to make us feel good about having her there.
You care for the Elders with such grace and respect. The programs, activities...even the dining experience are just awesome. Mom kept busy and was lovingly cared for during her two year stay. Staff even gave me hugs and support when I needed it most! I will be forever grateful.
The inevitable task of having to transition my Grandmother from her home to Assisted Living was a very difficult one for me. You all made it a little easier as you showed through your love, compassion, caring and understanding that "Home" is where the heart is. My Grandmother embraced RPH as her new home and you all as her family and that speaks volumes.
Thank you for your individual contributions that enhanced Mom's final years and for the job that you continue to do in caring for others. If you've ever thought the little things are no big deal, then you need to think again. They're a very big deal to the recipient.
We are dedicated to providing every member of our team the opportunity to experience joy, meaning and fulfillment at work. RPH offers competitive wages, benefits and other incentives in an environment of mutual respect and acceptance.
