    Our History

    Since 1925, Rochester Presbyterian Home has been dedicated to caring for Elders. Founded as a "safe and happy haven" for Presbyterians, RPH remains strongly rooted in its faith-based traditions. We believe it is our obligation to not only care for resident's needs, but also to nurture their spirits. We welcome Elders and their families of all backgrounds, and consider it an honor to support them through this new season of living.

    Our philosophy is rooted in the principles of the Eden Alternative®, which focuses on moving away from the institutional hierarchical model of care into a constructive culture of “home” where Elders direct their own lives. The Eden philosophy is focused on the care of the human spirit as well as the care of the human body.
